Most of my patient's parents believe that multi-language exposure slows down the speech progress in kids. Studies showed completely opposite results.
A Toronto study in the journal Child Development of 104 6-year-olds showed that bilingual children had a deeper understanding of language structure and increased levels of executive control compared with monolingual children. CBC.ca (Canada). The bilingual groups exceeded their monolingual peers in attention spam. Researchers showed bilingualism may delay the onset of Alzheimer's disease.
